Chantons en choeur! includes 16 songs in a variety of styles - swing, rap, rock, Latin etc.  Most are original and unique to Merryman.  They are catchy, easy to learn and make use of vocabulary and language topics most frequently used with young learners of French.  Also included are a small number of traditional French songs including "Mon Beau Sapin" and an extended version of "J'aime la galette".

Language topics include greetings & presenting myself, letters, numbers, action verbs & body nouns, dates & birthdays, likes & dislikes, colours, animals, pastimes & school subjects, shops, directions and weather.  The vocabulary used is compatible with many of the activities to be found in Dans la poche! and the two publications complement each other.  The songs can also be used as starting points for further activities practising oracy and literacy skills.  Teachers will recognise links between activities in our free lesson plans to be found on our website and the song lyrics of Chantons en choeur!
