"Sept petites histoires" is a story-based teaching resource suitable for use with 5 - 11 year old learners of French in Primary School. Seven familiar folk tales have been selected to provide children with an enjoyable language experience at an appropriate level. Copiable illustrations (click here for conditions), copiable activities and games, guidance notes for teachers, a CD and free lesson plans make "Sept petites histoires" a rich and flexible resource both for specialist language teachers and class teachers.

The CD

All seven stories are read clearly on the CD (31 min) by a native French speaker. This provides a good language model both for children and non-specialist teachers. A4 French/English transcripts of the stories accompany the CD.

The Teachers' Resource File

The teachers' resource file (62pp) includes French/English story transcripts, Guidance notes for teachers and copiable activity sheets based on the language of the stories and common language topics, e.g. grammatical and phonological awareness, big and small, head and body nouns, time, days of the week, food, shops and shopping etc. The file also includes copymasters (a further 20pp) of storyboards and A4 illustrations (a further 54 line drawings) for making Big Books or for colouring / labelling activities, games, clothes picture cards and a mask template. 

The teachers' resource file and A4 story illustrations are available either in printed format or in an electronic format for download from our website.
